May 20 (UPI) -- Justin Cornwell took to Instagram to address this week's cancellation of his Los Angeles cop drama Training Day after one season.

"It's hard to say goodbye but I had a wonderful experience playing Kyle Craig and wouldn't trade my time with the cast and crew of Training Day for anything in the world," Cornwell wrote in his post. "Make sure to check out our final episode this Saturday at 9pm on CBS. Also make sure you follow me because I'm just getting started! Let's fly."

Cornwell's co-star Bill Paxton suffered a catastrophic stroke and died more than a week after undergoing heart surgery in February. The actor had filmed all of his scenes for the show's first season when he died at the age of 61.

CBS unveiled its lineup for the 2017-18 television season Wednesday and Training Day was not on it.
