Starz renews 'American Gods' for a second season

May 12 (UPI) -- Starz is bringing its fantasy drama American Gods back for Season 2.

"The war is far from over. American Gods has been renewed for a second season," the cable network said in a message posted on social media Thursday.

Based on Neil Gaiman's novel, the show follows the conflicts between old and new gods. The series' ensemble includes Ricky Whittle, Ian McShane, Emily Browning, Pablo Schreiber, Yetide Badaki, Bruce Langley, Crispin Glover, Orlando Jones, Gillian Anderson, Kristin Chenoweth, Jonathan Tucker and Cloris Leachman.
