In its place, NBC will be airing its retail sitcom Superstore in its 8:30 p.m. ET time slot.

Powerless still had three episodes remaining as part of its first season including an episode that would have featured former Batman star Adam West returning to the world of DC Comics in a guest role. It remains unclear if the episodes will be aired.

Writer and executive producer Patrick Schumacker confirmed the news on Twitter writing, "#Powerless will not air this week or next. This, I know for sure. I can guess some other things but they're not good. Thanks for watching."

Starring Vanessa Hudgens, Powerless takes place inside Gotham City at Wayne Enterprises subsidiary Wayne Security which is owned by Batman's alter-ego Bruce Wayne.

"In a world where humanity must cope with the collateral damage of Super Heroes and Super-Villains, Emily Locke (Hudgens) begins her first day as Director of Research & Development for Wayne Security, a subsidiary of Wayne Enterprises that specializes in products that make defenseless bystanders feel a little safer," reads the official synopsis.

"Full of confidence and big ideas, Emily quickly learns that her expectations far exceed those of her new boss (Alan Tudyk) and officemates, so it will be up to her to lead the team toward their full potential and the realization that you don't need superpowers to be a hero," it continues.

The comedy also starred Danny Pudi, Christina Kirk, and Ron Funches.
