Sutton Foster of 'Younger' adopts baby girl

April 17 (UPI) -- Sutton Foster is a first-time mom after adopting a baby girl.

The 42-year-old actress confirmed through her rep to People that she recently welcomed daughter Emily Dale with husband Ted Griffin.

"They are delighted to announce the healthy arrival of their daughter Emily Dale Griffin," Foster's rep said of the couple's new addition, who was born March 5.

"Our lives are forever changed, and our hearts are exploding," the Younger star added.

Foster initially announced the news Friday during her Lincoln Center American Songbook performance at Alice Tully Hall in New York. She shared a photo on Instagram of herself surrounded by friends at the event.

"An amazing night made even better by amazing friends @tonebobb @boorobbie @menguinmcg @adamhalpin #tootallted #lincolncenter," the actress wrote.

Foster and Griffin, a 46-year-old screenwriter known for Ocean's Eleven, married in October 2014. The actress plays Liza Miller on Younger, and has starred in Thoroughly Modern Milly and Anything Goes on Broadway.
