"@MasterofNone Season 2 debuts May 12th on Netflix here's a trailer for ya..." Ansari tweeted to his 11 million followers.

Master of None follows Dev, a struggling actor, as he pursues his career and romance in New York. The new season will see the character "take on challenges" after a trip abroad, according to the show's logline.

"After traveling abroad, Dev returns to New York to take on challenges in his personal and family life, a new career opportunity, and a complex, developing relationship with someone very meaningful to him," the summary reads.

Master of None premiered a critically-acclaimed first season in 2015. Ansari explained the delay between seasons in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in August.

"This show isn't the type of show where we're going to be able to just turn around and turn it in right away," he said. "We covered so much stuff in Season 1 and wanted to make sure the ideas we had in Season 2 were equally interesting and the episodes were just as ambitious."
