"Happy birthday babe!!!!!" Bushnell captioned a photo of herself and Higgins with a horse.

"I'm so thankful for this life together," she gushed. "Although sometimes rocky you always hold my hand and support me through it, always with a smile on your face. You deserve the world, especially today."

Higgins later told his Twitter followers that Bushnell baked him "the best rhubarb" cake for his birthday. He also thanked his friends and fans for their well-wishes.

"Im living the good life #happybirthdaytome," he wrote. "28 feels good. Thanks for the birthday wishes today!"

Bushnell and Higgins got engaged on The Bachelor Season 20 finale, which aired in March 2016, and have since starred on Ben & Lauren: Happily Ever After?. Higgins responded to breakup rumors in February.

"No need to respond often to rumors or 'fake news' but the feeling I have in this picture is the same feeling I have for this girl today," he captioned a throwback photo.

"We have entered a world where rumors will exist we know that, but just know as @laurenbushnell celebrates her birthday tomorrow I am still extremely lucky to be able to share life with her and be by her side," the star added.

Bushnell appeared on the premiere of The Twins: Happily Ever After?, which follows sisters and Bachelor Season 20 contestants Haley and Emily Ferguson, this week. The new show airs on Freeform.
