'Young and the Restless' dominates Daytime Emmy Award nominations

March 23 (UPI) -- The Daytime Emmy Award nominations have been announced with soap opera The Young and the Restless leading the pack with 25 nominations.

Other dominating soap operas include The Bold and the Beautiful and General Hospital which each earned 23 nominations while Days of Our Lives received 22 nominations.

The nominations were announced Wednesday during CBS's The Talk which was nominated for Outstanding Talk Show/Entertainment alongside The View, The Ellen DeGeneres Show which earned eight nominations, Maury and Live with Kelly.

Other standouts include Sesame Street, with 10 nominations, and CBS Sunday Morning, CBS This Morning, Good Morning America and Today being nominated for Outstanding Morning Program.

By network, CBS leads with 71 followed by Amazon (50), ABC (38), NBC (36), PBS (40) and Netflix (36.)

The 44th annual Daytime Emmy Awards will be held April 30 at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium. Former Entertainment Tonight host Mary Hart will be honored with a lifetime achievement award.
