Demi Moore joins the cast of 'Empire'

Feb. 22 (UPI) -- Demi Moore is joining Fox's Empire in Season 4.

The Ghost, G.I. Jane and Indecent Proposal star will appear in the last episode of Season 3 as "a take-charge nurse with a mysterious past" who will become more involved with the Lyon family the following season.

This isn't the film star's first television role -- she started out on General Hospital in the 1980s.

The 54-year-old actress is joining a star-studded list of guest stars this season, including Taye Diggs, Phylicia Rashad, Eva Longoria and Nia Long. Moore's daughter, Rumer Willis, has also joined the show this season in a recurring role.

Empire is in its third season and will return from mid-season break March 22. The drama follows the Lyon family and stars Terrence Howard, Taraji P. Henson, Bryshere Y. Gray, Trai Byers, Jussie Smollett.
