Feb. 16 (UPI) -- Mariska Hargitay reunited Wednesday with former Law & Order: SVU co-star Christopher Meloni.

The 53-year-old actress and 55-year-old actor, who played partners Olivia Benson and Elliot Stabler on the NBC series, delighted fans by sharing a sweet moment following Valentine's Day.

"And then that happened... Just when I thought Valentine's Day was over," Hargitay captioned a photo on Instagram of Meloni giving her a kiss on the cheek.

The former co-stars previously reunited in a holiday selfie in December. Meloni left Law & Order: SVU in 2011 after 12 seasons with the police procedural, while Hargitay continues to star on the show.

"There was always an unspoken shorthand to what we were doing," the actor said of his dynamic with Hargitay on Inside the Actors Studio in March 2016. "There's a lot to be said for that when you're working with someone for 16 hours a day."

"Oh my God, [we were] always cracking up," he shared. "Constantly try[ing] to make each other laugh. You know, not in certain scenes, no, but yeah, constantly busting chops."

Meloni has appeared on True Blood and Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp since his SVU departure, and presently plays August Pullman on Underground. He told Entertainment Weekly in May that he'd be open to coming back to SVU before the series ends.

"I always presented that I'd be open to doing the last few episodes, so that's really all I have to say about that. It's not up to me, I'll just say that. I've said my piece on it," the star said.
