Kim Kardashian and Chrissy Teigen start book club

Feb. 2 (UPI) -- Close friends Kim Kardashian and Chrissy Teigen launched their own book club Wednesday.

The 36-year-old reality star and 31-year-old model invited celebrity pals and fans to join them in reading the Betty J. Eadie book Embraced by the Light.

"So guys..... @chrissyteigen & @jenatkinhair & I are starting a book club!" Kardashian tweeted. "I'm making them read 'Embraced by the Light' as our first book!"

"Hey @lala join the book club with @chrissyteigen, @jenatkinhair & I. This book is a life changer," she added. "Everyone's invited!!!!"

Teigen also encouraged fans to "JOIN US," explaining, "I think you just get the book and read, my dude/dudette." Kardashian later confirmed they will review the books on her website and app.

Embraced by the Light recounts Eadie's near-death experience and reported journey into an afterlife after dying in the hospital after undergoing surgery. The book reached No. 1 on the New York Times best sellers list.

"It's a story of a woman who died during surgery & came back 2 life. She shares her journey of what heaven is like. Its so good by @BettyJEadie," Kardashian described.

Kardashian and Teigen are longtime friends whose respective husbands, Kanye West and John Legend, are also close. Teigen defended the reality star in October after Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint in Paris.

"Some [expletive] just isn't funny. I see you trying, but it isn't," she tweeted. "Fame is interesting. Celebs are supposed to love you guys while also knowing you'd make a meme of our dead bodies to get retweets."
