The first episode of Saturday Night Live following President Donald Trump's inauguration ended with a heartfelt tribute to his predecessor Barack Obama.

NBC News reported SNL cast members Cecily Strong and Sasheer Zamata sang "To Sir, With Love," the title song from the 1967 movie about a beloved teacher played by Sidney Poitier, in front of a portrait of Obama.

"We got you a mug. It says 'World's Best President,'" Strong said, holding up a coffee cup at the end of the song, according to Us Weekly.

"Thank you. Don't go," Zamata added.

Trump is a vocal critic of SNL, particularly Alec Baldwin's impression of him. Trump hosted an episode of the sketch-comedy show when he was on the campaign trail last year, however.

Aziz Ansari hosted this weekend's edition.
