Amazon renews Bryan Cranston's 'Sneaky Pete' for a second season

Jan. 20 (UPI) -- Amazon says it has renewed Sneaky Pete, a drama featuring Bryan Cranston, Giovanni Ribisi and Margo Martindale, for a second season.

Co-created and executive produced by Cranston, the series co-stars Peter Gerety and Marin Ireland. Graham Yost is showrunner.

"Bryan Cranston and Graham Yost have done a masterful job of steering the cast to fantastic performances," Joe Lewis, head of comedy and drama for Amazon Studios, said in a statement Thursday. "Both the critical response and our customers' engagement with the series are key factors in our enthusiasm to bring our audience a second season of Sneaky Pete."

Season 1 debuted Jan. 13. The show focuses on scammer Marius, who gets out of prison only to find himself hunted by the vicious gangsterĀ he once robbed, a synopsis said.
