Dakota Fanning to co-star with Daniel Bruhl, Luke Evans in TNT's 'The Alienist'

PASADENA, Calif., Jan. 15 (UPI) -- American Pastoral and I Am Sam alum Dakota Fanning is to co-star in the TNT drama based on Caleb Carr's best-selling novel The Alienist.

Fanning will play Sara Howard, "a headstrong secretary at police headquarters," the cable network said of the program, which is scheduled to film in Budapest soon for a television debut late this year.

Daniel Brühl was previously cast in the 19th century-set show as forensic psychologist Dr. Laszlo Kreizler and Luke Evans as reporter John Moore.

"The series will follow the three of them as they investigate a series of brutal murders in New York during the Gilded Age," a synopsis said.
