BBC releases trailer for 'Doctor Who' Christmas special

LONDON, Dec. 10 (UPI) -- The BBC has released a 30-second trailer for its hour-long, Doctor Who Christmas special The Return of Doctor Mysterio.

"With brain-swapping aliens poised to attack, the Doctor and Nardole link up with an investigative reporter and a mysterious figure known only as The Ghost. Can the Doctor save Manhattan? And what will be revealed when we see behind the mask?" teases the synopsis, which accompanies Friday's preview.

The New York-set, holiday edition of the beloved, British sci-fi show stars Peter Capaldi, Matt Lucas, Justin Chatwin, Charity Wakefield, Tomiwa Edun, Aleksandar Jovanovic and Logan Huffman.
