LOS ANGELES, Oct. 27 (UPI) -- Elijah Wood told Conan O'Brien that he is surprised people are still fascinated with his resemblance to Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliffe.

"After a while you think, it hits the internet and it becomes a thing and people talk about it for a while," Wood said on Wednesday night's Conan. "And you think, ok we get it, the joke is over and it'll die, but it has long legs. And it keeps going."

Wood told O'Brien how he and Radcliffe almost duked it out in the boxing ring at Austin's Fantastic Fest film festival.

"They do this thing called the Fantastic Debates," Wood explained, "which effectively is two people in a boxing ring, as it turns out, debating a topic."

The debate then leads to a boxing match.

"So a proper debate and then it's fisticuffs," Wood said. "For the longest time they wanted to get Daniel Radcliffe and I to do it and it almost became a thing this year and I ultimately squashed it. I was like, I don't wanna fight this guy. I don't want the culmination of the fact that we look alike or somehow get mistaken for each other to end up being in a boxing ring."
