LOS ANGELES, Oct. 26 (UPI) -- Flipping Out star Jeff Lewis is a first-time dad.

The 46-year-old television personality announced Tuesday on Instagram that he and partner Gage Edward welcomed daughter Monroe Christine via surrogate that afternoon.

"At 4:22pm today, I grew up. Welcome Monroe Christine Lewis," he captioned a photo of himself holding his daughter.

Lewis and Edward have been together six years and announced in May that they were expecting their first child. The couple unsuccessfully pursued adoption before opting for surrogacy.

"We are very excited, but I'm also a little terrified," Lewis admitted to People at the time. "I'm trying to decide if I'm more terrified or excited, but I think it's normal."

"This has been a three- or four-year process for us," he said. "There were so many obstacles along the way, but there's a happy ending. I can't tell you how grateful and appreciative we are."

"We're going to end up redoing this little girl's room like a hundred times. But right now, I want just a really soft, soothing, cam room," the star added. "I just want this room to be like a sanctuary for her."

Lewis, who flips homes on Flipping Out, had shared a photo of his daughter's nursery ahead of her birth. The Bravo series completed a ninth season in September and has yet to be renewed for a 10th.
