LOS ANGELES, Sept. 29 (UPI) -- Miley Cyrus has taken over hosting duties for Thursday's episode of Ellen in place of a sick Ellen DeGeneres.

"Listen now, I know all of you came to see Ellen, so I'm gonna do my best to make you very happy," the pop star said after she greeted fans in true Ellen fashion by dancing onto the stage.

"I'm dressed like her, I smell like her, just before I came out here, I actually kissed a girl, so thank you. Thank you for making me feel very welcome. Thank you guys for making me feel so welcome. Thank you for staying," she continued before comparing this new gig to hosting duties she's had in the past.

"I'll admit I'm a little bit nervous because I've never hosted a show with my clothes on before, so this is so weird," Cyrus mentioned.

The 23-year-old even joked about giving DeGeneres Molly to help her get over her sickness. "Don't worry you guys, Ellen will be fine, but she just isn't feeling well, so she's asked me to fill in and of course, I said yes for my girl Ellen. And I gave her a bunch of Molly to make her feel better. It's working."

DeGeneres took to Twitter to thank Cyrus for filling in writing, "The bad news is I'm sick & can't tape my show today. The good news is @MileyCyrus dropped everything to host for me. Thanks, Miley!"

Cyrus recently made headlines for revealing that she's not a fan of Mariah Carey. "I've never really been a fan, because it's so much about Mariah Carey. That's part of her shtick; I can see through that," she says in the October issue of Elle.
