LOS ANGELES, Aug. 25 (UPI) -- Dancing with the Stars favorite Maksim Chmerkovskiy is returning for Season 23.

The 36-year-old professional dancer confirmed he'll compete as a pro in a tweet Thursday after media outlets broke the news the day previous.

"Yes I aaaaaaaaam! :))," he wrote in response to former contestant Ginger Zee's post about his return. Zee was partnered with Chmerkovskiy's brother, Val Chmerkovskiy, in Season 22.

Chmerkovskiy will reportedly team with television personality Amber Rose, who was linked to the series this week. The rumor is largely based on a photo of the pair in costume that is circulating online.

"It's going to be amazing. We're going to have an incredible cast, as always," Val Chmerkovskiy had teased on Tuesday's episode of Good Morning America.

"I'm also excited for the pros," he added. "We have a lot of different pros coming back. Some pros from back, back in the day, so I'm excited."

Witney Carson, Sharna Burgess, Artem Chigvintsev, Lindsay Arnold and Sasha Farber will join the brothers in Season 23. Peta Murgatroyd, who is pregnant and expecting her first child with Chmerkovskiy, will sit the season out.
