LOS ANGELES, Aug. 17 (UPI) -- Jodie Sweetin is not confident Mary-Kate or Ashley Olsen will ever return to Fuller House to reprise their role as Michelle Tanner.

"We've tried everything," the actress said to Entertainment Tonight about the cast and crew trying to convince the Olsen twins to appear on the Netflix revival of Full House while attending the premiere of Kubo and the Two Strings.

"I think we've kinda given up," she continued.

The Olsen's are the only missing part of Fuller House which has brought back the main original cast of Full House which includes Candace Cameron Bure (D.J.), Andrea Barber (Kimmy), Sweetin (Stephanie), Bob Saget (Danny) John Stamos (Uncle Jesse), Lori Loughlin (Aunt Becky) and Dave Couiler (Uncle Joey).

The characters have mentioned Michelle's absence on the series noting that she is busy running her fashion empire in New York, a reference to Mark-Kate and Ashley's real-life career.

Back in January, Stamos discussed the Olsen twins refusal to star on the show stating that they were "very, very sweet," in declining the offer. "They seemed very into it. They just were afraid of acting. They don't consider themselves actresses ... They were like, 'Let us think about it,' and it just wasn't for them," he said.

Regardless, production on Season 2 of the hit Netflix sitcom is officially underway.
