Tyler Christopher says 'nothing official yet' about his return to 'General Hospital'

LOS ANGELES, July 30 (UPI) -- Daytime Emmy Award-winner Tyler Christopher says he hopes to resume playing Prince Nikolas Cassadine on General Hospital soon, but there is "nothing official yet" about his return.

"Slow down every1 I said I THINK Sept. will b my return 2 #GH. Nothing official yet. Thanks for all the love 2day though. #Muchappreciated," Christopher tweeted.

TVLine said the actor had been off the show since May due to lengthy contract negotiations. Nick Stabile had been playing Nikolas in the interim, however he made his final appearance earlier this month.

Christopher began playing the role in 1996.
