LOS ANGELES, May 28 (UPI) -- Former Days of Our Lives actress Molly Burnett will temporarily take over the role of Maxie Jones on ABC's General Hospital.

Daytime Confidential reported Burnett will fill in for Kirsten Storms, who is taking a break from the daytime soap. No reason was given for Storms' exit, but the real-life mother of a 2-year-old daughter is going through a divorce from fellow soap star Brandon Barash. It is unclear how long Storms will be absent from the show.

Maxie's relationship with current love interest Nathan -- played by Ryan Paevey -- is about to get complicated with the arrival of his much-discussed ex-wife Claudette, who will be played by One Life to Live alum Bree Williamson.

Storms has played Maxie on GH since 2005.
