LOS ANGELES, May 23 (UPI) -- Injured Ginger Zee and her professional partner Val Chmerkovskiy performed on the first night of the Season 22 finals of Dancing with the Stars, earning a score of 28 out of 30 from the judges.

The meteorologist's participation came into doubt over the weekend after she hurt her pelvis and back last week.

They performed a second dance later in the show and earned a rating of 30 out of 30.

"Right now, it's giving out -- my back, my pelvis, everything is starting to give and it couldn't happen at a more pressure-filled, stress-filled time," Zee said in a pre-taped video that aired on Monday's show before she hit the floor with Chmerkovskiy. "If I perform full-out with how I feel right now, it will spasm and I could in the middle of the dance, in front of America, fall down."

All went smoothly, however, and she is poised to appear on Tuesday's season finale. Zee's fellow finalists in the celebrity dance-off are mixed martial artist Paige VanZant and America's Next Top Model's Nyle DiMarco.
