LOS ANGELES, May 16 (UPI) -- Emilia Clarke is proud of her latest nude scene from Game of Thrones despite rumors that the actress was against going bare on the hit HBO drama.

"I'd like to remind people the last time I took my clothes off was Season 3," Clarke said to Entertainment Weekly following Sunday's episode. "That was awhile ago. It's now season 6. But this is all me, all proud, all strong. I'm just feeling genuinely happy I said 'Yes.' That ain't no body double!"

The scene involved Clarke as Daenerys Targaryen escaping her Dothraki captors by burning them alive inside a locked cabin. Surviving the fire as she has done previously on the show, Daenerys appears with her clothes burned off to the Dothraki people who now worship her.

"It's so exciting, very tingly-making. Every season I get at least one spine-chilling moment. I just stand up and I go, 'I'm hearing what you're all saying, but funny thing, I'm going to kill you all. I forgot that I have an ace in my back pocket and now I win,'" she said of the scene.

The moment comes after reports from 2015 that stated Clarke was unwilling to go nude again on Game of Thrones which she refuted on Instagram at the time stating "In drama, if a nude scene forwards a story or is shot in a way that adds insight into characters, I'm perfectly fine with it."

"Sometimes explicit scenes are required and make sense for the characters/story, as they do in Westeros. If it's gratuitous for gratuitous sake, then I will discuss with a director on how to make it more subtle. In either case, like a good Mother of Dragons, I'm always in control," she continued.

I was followed into a party by a journalist who asked me a question about female empowerment and then quoted me entirely out of context for an outlet I didn’t agree to speak with. So I feel now, with the beauty of Instagram I should clarify my statements, if for nothing else than for posterity. In drama, if a nude scene forwards a story or is shot in a way that adds insight into characters, I’m perfectly fine with it. Sometimes explicit scenes are required and make sense for the characters/story, as they do in Westeros. If it’s gratuitous for gratuitous sake, then I will discuss with a director on how to make it more subtle. In either case, like a good Mother of Dragons, I’m always in control. #dracarys #bodiesmaybetemplesbutmindsarewhatmatter #MODforreal

In April, the 29-year-old called for more male nudity on the show that is known for mostly displaying women. "I saw [Jason's] member, but it was covered in a pink fluffy sock," Clarke said of Jason Momoa, who formerly played her onscreen husband, Khal Drogo. "Showing it would make people feel bad. It's too fabulous."

"No, I don't know why [the disparity exists]," she said more seriously. "But I'd like to bring your memory back to Mr. Michiel Huisman and I copulating for the first time, which began with me saying, 'Take off your clothes,' and then you got to see his perfect bottom."
