NEW YORK, May 6 (UPI) -- Louis C.K. outlined the reasons why he temporarily quit the Internet, one of them being his connection with his two daughters.

The actor and stand-up comedian appeared on Conan to discuss becoming more "deliberate" about his life, saying devices made him "upset" because he'd frequently end up seeing things online he didn't want to see.

"I quit it, for now," he said. "I decided I don't wanna be on the Internet anymore, I don't like the way it feels anymore -- especially in my hand, the devices...it makes me feel upset."

He then explained how frequent notifications from his phone interfered in his relationships with his daughters, saying despite how the eldest one seemed, she was hurt when he would look down to check his phone.

"I'll be with my daughter and she's talking to me, and we're talking, and then 'bling' my phone goes 'bling' and I [look] down like this," he said. "And my kids are nice people, so they just wait. But I started to realize a few things...you can't just go by how a person reacts to you.You can't just go like, 'it's alright with her,' 'cause she's my kid. But she dies inside every time I do this."

C.K. enlisted his daughter to put a restriction code on his phone and ultimately took them on vacation in order to reconnect with them. He also said he read Pride and Prejudice for the first time.

Later in the interview, the Louie star then presented a note his 10-year-old daughter wrote to him after he quit the Internet.

"I am really proud of you for cutting yourself off from the Internet and reading an awesome book. I want you to know that what you did means a lot to me and I really enjoy seeing your pleasure in not constantly being on devices," he read.

"I think people should know it has an impact on your kids," he concluded.
