LOS ANGELES, May 5 (UPI) -- Carice van Houten is spilling details about her resurrection scene on Game of Thrones.

The 39-year-old Dutch actress, who plays Melisandre on the HBO series, discussed the scene with Entertainment Weekly after her character brought Jon Snow (Kit Harington) back to life on Sunday's episode.

"It took forever to resurrect him, forever!" van Houten revealed. "I think I washed his body 50 times. There would be a lot of people who would be very jealous, including my mother and sister. I was joking about that with [Kit]."

"It was such an easy two episodes; I loved it," Harington himself added. "I'm in a warm room, which is unusual for me ... [The experience was] very weird, like a teenage boy's wet dream. You're laying there naked and Carice van Houten is washing you."

The Season 6 episode, titled "Home," saw Melisandre resurrect Jon Snow with magic after his death on the Season 5 finale. Harington and other cast members had insisted Jon was gone for good, but fans remained hopeful for his return.

"It was a long day," van Houten told The Hollywood Reporter of the scene. "We did that scene I don't know how many times from I don't know how many angles. But we all knew it was going to be such an important scene, so it was fine."

"I don't know how [Melisandre] did it, to be honest," she admitted. "We saw her in a true identity crisis in the [Season 6 premiere]. She really has to recover from that. The fact that she [resurrected] Jon Snow means there's still some power in the Lord of Light left."

Game of Thrones co-stars Emilia Clarke as Daenerys Targaryen, Maisie Williams as Arya Stark and Lena Headey as Cersei Lannister. The series airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET.
