Tori Spelling, Ivan Sergei to star in vampire-themed 'Mother, May I Sleep with Danger?' re-make

LOS ANGELES, April 7 (UPI) -- Mother, May I Sleep with Danger? co-stars Tori Spelling and Ivan Sergei are to appear in James Franco's re-imagining of the iconic TV movie.

Lifetime and Sony Pictures Television announced the casting -- which includes Leila George, Emily Meade and Nick Eversman -- and June 18 premiere date on Thursday.

"With a story by [executive producer] Franco, this updated classic features a vampire love story that brings a whole new meaning to 'sleeping with danger,'" a press release said. "The film comes on the heels of Lifetime's successful and buzziest movie event of 2015, A Deadly Adoption, starring Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig."

The original version of the 20-year-old Mother, May I Sleep with Danger? will be available beginning April 29 via Lifetime Movie Club.
