LOS ANGELES, March 7 (UPI) -- Talk-show host Jimmy Kimmel announced Monday he will preside over the 68th Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony honoring excellence in television.
"I am hosting the #Emmys on Sunday Sept 18. Until then, have a great summer," Kimmel tweeted.
"Jimmy Kimmel is the consummate showman," Channing Dungey, president of ABC Entertainment, said in a statement. "With Kimmel at the helm, expect to be at the edge of your seat for a bigger, bolder, and better-than-ever Emmy event."
"I am excited to be hosting the Emmys again. I have a feeling I'm going to be great," added Kimmel.
Kimmel also was the emcee of the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards in 2012.
Nominations for this year's gala are to be announced July 14.
