The Triple 9 actor appeared on the program Monday night wearing casual clothing, sporting a scruffy beard and loose mid-length hair, prompting the comedian to point out his looks in front of the audience.
"Thanks for dressing up," Colbert said. "I can't tell whether this choice is the least celebrity thing to do or the most celebrity thing to do because it's very casual."
Obviously uncomfortable with the topic, Affleck attempted to change the subject with a compliment toward's Colbert's appearance, but the move backfired, prompting several more awkward exchanges.
"We should probably end up fighting at the end of this," Colbert quipped. "It feels like this is where this is going."
