PASADENA, Calif., Jan. 16 (UPI) -- British actor Tim Curry is to narrate this fall's small-screen remake of the musical The Rocky Horror Picture Show, FOX announced.

Curry created the role of Dr. Frank-N-Furter in the 1973 London stage production of Rocky Horror and also played the character in the 1975 film version.

"I am very happy and excited to be a part of this new event," Curry said in a statement Friday as his casting as the Criminologist Narrator was revealed.

Curry, 69, joins previously announced cast members Laverne Cox as Dr. Frank-N-Furter, Victoria Justice as Janet, Ryan McCartan as Brad, Adam Lambert as Eddie, Reeve Carney as Riff Raff and Staz Nair as Rocky.

"The Rock Horror Picture Show follows sweethearts Janet and Brad, who stumble upon Dr. Frank-N-Furter's bizarre abode," a synopsis said. "Frank-N-Furter, a sexually ambiguous, flirtatious alien mad-scientist -- with the help of his faithful servants Riff Raff and Magenta -- is holding an annual, Transylvanian science convention to showcase the birth of Rocky Horror -- a fit, attractive man created solely to fulfill Frank's desires."
