LOS ANGELES, Nov. 25 (UPI) -- The Olsen twins won't reprise their role as Michelle Tanner in "Full House" sequel series "Fuller House" set to premiere on Netflix in 2016.

Lori Loughlin revealed as much in an interview with The Huffington Post published Wednesday. The 51-year-old actress recently finished filming the Full House sequel series for Netflix, and explained that the Olsen twins are "in a different phase of their life."

"[The season] is wrapped and they didn't come in," she said of the 29-year-old actresses. "I don't think they're going to make a cameo [in future episodes, either]. They didn't this season."

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen claimed to have just learned about the spinoff when word of the series broke in April. Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos still had hope the twins might join the show in late July.

Loughlin starred as Aunt Becky on Full House's eight-season run from 1987 to 1995. Co-stars John Stamos, Bob Saget, Dave Coulier, Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber will also return for the series, which will focus on Bure's D.J. Tanner.

"After you got over the initial surreal experience of like, 'Wow, we're here again,' we sort of fell back into line exactly as we were," Loughlin said. "And we had a lot of laughs and a lot of good times and it was a lot like picking up right where we left off."

Fuller House will premiere on Netflix in 2016. Newcomers Michael Campion, Elias Harger and Dashiell and Fox Messitt will star as D.J.'s three sons, with Soni Bringas as Kimmy Gibbler's (Barber) daughter and Eva LaRue as Danny Tanner's (Saget) new wife.
