Krysten Ritter fights back in new 'Jessica Jones' trailer

The series will premiere a 13-episode first season Nov. 20.

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 11 (UPI) -- Jessica Jones released a new trailer starring Krysten Ritter on Tuesday.

The preview sees the Marvel character (Ritter) team up with Luke Cage (Mike Colter) after the villainous Kilgrave (David Tennant) returns from her past. Sparks fly between Jessica and Luke as they attempt to fight Kilgrave's mind control.

Carrie-Anne Moss also stars as attorney Jeri Hogarth, with Rachael Taylor as Jessica's best friend, Trish "Patsy" Walker, aka Hellcat, Eka Darville as her neighbor Malcolm, Erin Moriarty as her client Hope, and Wil Traval as Det. Will Simpson, aka Nuke.

In the comics, Jessica possesses superhuman strength and the ability to fly, but rejects her abilities after coming under Kilgrave's mind control. She has ended her superhero career and opened her own private investigation agency at the time of the series.

Jessica Jones will premiere Nov. 20 on Netflix. Ritter is known for playing Gia Goodman on The CW series Veronica Mars, Jane Margolis on AMC drama Breaking Bad and Chloe on ABC sitcom Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23.
