NeNe Leakes to return on 'The Real Housewives of Atlanta'

The television personality will make sporadic appearances on season 8.

ATLANTA, Oct. 29 (UPI) -- NeNe Leakes will return on The Real Housewives of Atlanta after all.

Bravo confirmed the 47-year-old reality star will appear on season 8, despite her departure after season 7.

Sources told E! News Leakes surprised her co-stars by showing up unannounced during their recent trip to Jamaica. The television personality will make an undetermined number of appearances on the forthcoming season.

Leakes announced in June she was leaving the show to pursue other opportunities. She will serve as a judge on an ABC revival of To Tell the Truth with Betty White, and return to Broadway in Chicago in November.

The reality star was a main cast member on seasons 1 through 7 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Season 8 will premiere Nov. 8 with Kandi Burruss, Cynthia Bailey, Phaedra Parks, Kenya Moore, Porsha Williams and newcomer Kim Fields.
