Kelly Ripa receives Hollywood Walk of Fame star

The television personality has hosted "Live! with Kelly and Michael" since 2012.

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 13 (UPI) -- Kelly Ripa was honored with a star Monday on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The 45-year-old actress-turned-television personality received the plaque in recognition of her contributions to television. Ripa came to fame as Hayley Vaughan on ABC soap opera All My Children, and has hosted Live! with various co-hosts since 2000.

"We are thrilled to add Kelly Ripa to our Walk of Fame," Walk of Fame producer Ana Martinez said in a statement. "Kelly Ripa has won the hearts of people on the small screen across the nation, and we welcome her to our Walk of Fame family with this well-deserved star."

Ripa's husband, Mark Consuelos, and their three children, 18-year-old Michael, 14-year-old Lola and 12-year-old Joaquin, were on hand to support the television personality at the ceremony. She and Consuelos met on the set of All My Children in 1995, and married in 1996.

Ripa won her third award for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host at the Daytime Emmy Awards in April. She hosted Live with Regis and Kelly with Regis Philbin from 2001 to 2010, Live! with Kelly from 2011 to 2012, and Live! with Kelly and Michael with Michael Strahan since 2012.
