Donald Trump to host 'Saturday Night Live' on Nov. 7

NEW YORK, Oct. 13 (UPI) -- Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is to host the Nov. 7 edition of Saturday Night Live in New York when Sia will be the evening's musical guest, NBC announced Tuesday.

Trump, 69, is a frequent target on NBC's sketch-comedy show. The Season 41 premiere episode featured a cold open in which Taran Killam played the real-estate mogul as he defended some of his most outrageous statements thus far in his campaign. Cecily Strong played Trump's wife Melania in the clip, which quickly went viral.

Trump's political opponent, Democrat Hillary Clinton, played a chatty bartender in a separate sketch during the show's season premiere.

Trump previously hosted SNL on April 3, 2004. He was the star of the network's The Apprentice and The Celebrity Apprentice until he made controversial remarks about illegal immigrants from Mexico and lost those gigs to actor and former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Trump confirmed on his own Twitter account Tuesday he would host SNL next month.
