Sarah Silverman, Jon Cryer to appear on Netflix comedy series 'Lady Dynamite'

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 2 (UPI) -- Patton Oswalt, Ana Gasteyer, Jon Cryer, Mira Sorvino and Sarah Silverman are to guest star on the new comedy series Lady Dynamite, Netflix announced Wednesday.

Set to premiere in 2016, the show is based on what Maria Bamford has accepted to be "her life," the streaming service explained in a news release.

"The occasionally surreal episodes, refracted across multiple periods inspired by the actor/comedian's life, tell the story of a woman who loses -- and then finds – her [expletive.]"

Other guests booked to appear on the show are Brandon Routh, June Diane Raphael, Adam Pally, Dean Cain, Tig Notaro and Jenny Slate.

Bamford, Pam Brady and Mitch Hurwitz are executive producing the Netflix production.
