LOS ANGELES, Sept. 2 (UPI) -- Merida, the flame-haired heroine from the animated movie Brave, is to make an appearance in Sofia the First: The Secret Library. The four-part, Sofia the First story arc is to begin Oct. 12. Ruth Connell will play Merida, while guest stars Hugh Bonneville, Cary Elwes, Bonnie Hunt, Eric Stonestreet and Dean Norris will also lend their voices to characters in the special edition of the cartoon.

"Sofia's Aunt Tilly returns to give her a gift that will unlock a secret world and appoint Sofia storykeeper of magical books in Sofia the First: The Secret Library," Disney Junior said in a news release Tuesday.
A full-length preview and game for Sofia the First: The Secret Library is scheduled to debut on WATCHDisneyJunior.com and the WATCH Disney Junior app Oct. 5.
Sofia the First is now in its third season. Series regulars include Ariel Winter as Sofia, Sara Ramirez as Queen Miranda, Wayne Brady as Clover and Tim Gunn as Baileywick.
