NEW YORK, July 28 (UPI) -- Sherri Shepherd will reportedly return to ABC talk show The View as a lead contributor.

The 48-year-old television personality previously served as a permanent panelist on the show from 2007 to 2014. She and Jenny McCarthy left the program last August, three months after series creator Barbara Walters' departure.

Shepherd will appear alongside hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Raven-Symone and Michelle Collins. She is expected to contribute to approximately 50 episodes, with Candace Cameron Bure and Paula Faris slated to join Goldberg, Raven-Symone and Collins as co-hosts.

The View will complete an 18th season next week, with casting for season 19 to be announced shortly after. Current host Rosie Perez tearfully revealed she will not return for another season earlier this month, and Nicolle Wallace is also set to depart.

Shepherd is known for playing Ramona Platt on ABC sitcom Less Than Perfect, and recently starred with Keke Palmer in Cinderella on Broadway. The actress was ordered to pay $4,000 per month in child support to estranged husband Lamar Sally for her disavowed child this month.
