LOS ANGELES, July 7 (UPI) -- Kelly Rowland will guest star on Empire season 2.

The 34-year-old singer will portray Lucious Lyon's (Terrence Howard) mother in flashback scenes, an insider told E! News. Rowland sparked speculation she would appear on the Fox series after meeting with the show's writers in June.
