First trailer of Netflix's 'Wet Hot American Summer' features original cast members and new faces

LOS GATOS, Calif., July 2 (UPI) -- Fan's of the 2001 cult-classic, Wet Hot American Summer are getting their first look at Netflix's prequel production.

The original film tells the story of the last day at Camp Firewood circa 1981, but the eight-episode series will follow campers and counselors on their first day at the summer camp.

The impressive cast includes Bradley Cooper, Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Banks, Molly Shannon, Judah Friedlander, Janeane Garofalo, Michael Ian Black, Amy Poehler and so many others.

Even with all the big names from the original ensemble cast that are reprising their roles in the series, new stars like Kristen Wiig and John Hamm have also joined the project.

Wet Hot American Summer hits Netflix July 31.
