WERNERSVILLE, Pa., June 25 (UPI) -- Kate Gosselin is happily divorced from ex-husband Jon Gosselin. The 40-year-old reality star said as much on her 40th birthday episode of Kate Plus 8 this week. Gosselin discussed her hopes for the coming year, telling friend Deanna she is glad to be single.

"I want people to stop asking me if I'm dating," she said. "I would like that to end. Don't they realize after five years it offends me, it's annoying? It's a reminder that here I am, it's just me."
"Don't talk to me about ex situations," she continued. "I don't define myself with that. You know I've been divorced for five years. They've been the greatest five years of my life."
Gosselin and Jon Gosselin married in June 1999, and divorced in December 2009. The former couple have eight children: 14-year-old twins Cara and Madelyn and 11-year-old sextuplets Aaden, Alexis, Collin, Hannah, Joel and Leah.
Gosselin dismissed reports she is dating Dreamstime CEO Jeff Prescott in January, but was spotted with the businessman again in May. The television personality will appear on a new Kate Plus 8 special June 30 at 10 p.m. ET on TLC.
