Emma Roberts announces 'Scream Queens' premiere date

The series will star "American Horror Story: Freak Show" actress Skyler Samuels.

LOS ANGELES, June 25 (UPI) -- Emma Roberts announced the Scream Queens premiere date Wednesday.

The 24-year-old actress revealed the news by sharing a photo of herself and co-stars Ariana Grande, Abigail Breslin and Billie Lourd on Instagram, writing, "It's all happening!!!! #ScreamQueens."

The new horror-comedy anthology series will debut September 22 at 9 p.m. ET on Fox, and air on subsequent Tuesdays. American Horror Story creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk co-created the show with Glee co-creator Ian Brennan.

Scream Queens will center on a series of murders that take place on a college campus. Roberts, Grande, Breslin and Lourd play sorority sisters, with Skyler Samuels as a new rush and Jamie Lee Curtis as the university dean.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer actress Charisma Carpenter joined the cast this week as Grande's character's mom. Glee star Lea Michele, Just Keke host Keke Palmer and former Jonas Brothers member Nick Jonas also have roles.
