NEW YORK, June 14 (UPI) -- Girls creator and star Lena Dunham faced off against Jimmy Fallon in a lip sync competition on Friday night's edition of The Tonight Show.

"You're all sporty," Fallon told Dunham when she came out on stage wearing a Nike jacket and matching athletic skirt with shorts underneath, as well as sneakers.

"Well, I wanted to take this seriously and I needed room to flex, so..." Dunham replied. "I'm really excited for whatever this may bring."

Fallon went on to mime the words to Charlene's "I've Never Been to Me" after which Dunham pretended to sing Calvin Harris' "Outside" featuring Ellie Goulding.

When she was done, Fallon returned for his rendition of Run-DMC's "Run's House" and Dunham closed the segment with a performance of Queen's "Fat Bottomed Girls."

The winner -- Dunham -- was determined by the enthusiasm of the audience's applause.

"Thanks, guys!" Dunham told the crowd.
