NEW YORK, May 28 (UPI) -- Tracy Morgan is set to make his first TV appearance on The Today Show since he was involved in a car crash last year.

The 30 Rock actor was critically injured in the accident that occurred June 7, 2014, and has been out of the spotlight since suffering from head trauma, a broken leg and broken ribs in result of the incident.

A Walmart truck driver struck the comedian's limo while driving on the New Jersey Turnpike, which carried three other people. One of the passengers was killed and the other two, like Morgan, were critically injured. The news about the interview broke only a day after the lawsuit against Walmart was settled.

"Walmart did right by me and my family and for my associates and their families," Morgan said in a statement. "I am grateful that the case was resolved amicably."

During SNL's 40th anniversary special, Morgan's co-stars, Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin paid tribute to the actor who spent eight years on the comedy sketch show.

Morgan and his lawyer, Benedict Morelli, will be interviewed at Today's Rockefeller studios by Matt Lauer on June 1.
