LOS ANGELES, May 26 (UPI) -- American Horror Story co-creator Ryan Murphy says Max Greenfield has signed on for the upcoming season of FX's twisted anthology series.

"This October, Max Greenfield (like you've never seen him) is checking in to the hotel....but not checking out. #AHSHotel," Murphy tweeted.

Greenfield retweeted the post and added: "Thank you @MrRPMurphy .....It's ON! #AHSHotel"

The 34-year-old actor is best known for his roles on TV's Veronica Mars, Ugly Betty and New Girl.

Every edition of AHS takes place in a different time and place. It features a largely recurring ensemble of actors -- including Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters and Kathy Bates -- who return each season as new characters in various creepy settings such as a haunted house, insane asylum, witch's coven and freak show.
