Adrianne Palicki, Nick Blood to lead 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' spinoff

The actress and actor portray ex-spouses on the original ABC series.

LOS ANGELES, April 21 (UPI) -- Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood are expected to star on an Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. spinoff.

The 31-year-old actress and 33-year-old actor currently play Bobbi Morse, aka Mockingbird, and Lance Hunter on the original ABC series, and are reportedly in final negotiations to lead the new program.

Palicki joined Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as a guest star in season two, and was quickly promoted to series regular. Blood also joined the cast this season, and the actors have impressed fans with their portrayal of the formerly married duo.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. executive producer Jeffrey Bell and co-executive producer Paul Zbyszewski are developing the spinoff and will write and executive produce the series. The original show is in the midst of its second season, and airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET.
