NEW YORK, April 5 (UPI) -- Norman Reedus made a surprise appearance as his Walking Dead character Daryl Dixon on the most recent edition of the "Weekend Update" segment on Saturday Night Live.

SNL cast member Pete Davidson was expressing his concern for possibly being mistaken for an undead creature during a zombie apocalypse, noting his love for marijuana has left him with glazed eyes, a shuffling gait and impaired cognitive function.

Davidson is then shot in the chest with an arrow as Reedus playing Dixon appears. Davidson then explains to Dixon's surprise that he is, in fact, alive. He also points out the pot he smoked is so good he doesn't even feel the arrow in his chest.

"You're the dude from The Boondock Saints," Davidson realized, referencing one of Reedus' other iconic projects.

"And you're the dude who's going to show me where that weed is," Reedus deadpanned.
