BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., March 6 (UPI) -- Elisabeth Shue and Jason Schwartzman will appear in the first season of the half-hour, scripted comedy series Blunt Talk, Starz announced.

Shue and Schwartzman will play possible guests for the titular nightly cable news show. Patrick Stewart will play Walter Blunt, the host of the show-within-the-show.

Previously announced recurring stars include Richard Lewis and Ed Begley Jr. Moby and Sharon Lawrence will guest star on the series, which is to premiere this summer.

The show is from the MRC production company and executive produced by Seth MacFarlane, Jonathan Ames, Stephanie Davis and Tristram Shapeero. It has been greenlit for a two-season, 20-episode commitment.

"Set in Los Angeles, the story follows Walter Blunt, a British import intent on conquering the world of American cable news and the fallout from his well-intentioned, but mostly misguided decision-making, both on and off the air," a synopsis said.
