James Bond portrayer Daniel Craig to appear in Comic Relief sketch

LONDON , March 3 (UPI) -- The BBC said its March 13 Comic Relief: Face the Funny fundraiser will air live from the London Palladium and feature appearances by Daniel Craig, Russell Brand, Stephen Fry and Eddie Izzard.

Also booked for the Red Nose Day charity event are John Bishop, Lenny Henry, Davina McCall, David Walliams, Claudia Winkleman, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, David Gandy, Miranda Hart, Sheridan Smith, Ben Miller, Rebecca Front and The Chuckle Brothers.

"The world's most famous secret agent, Daniel Craig, has been given a license to thrill viewers in a special one-off James Bond sketch -- which promises to leave you shaken and stirred in the best way possible," the British broadcaster said in a news release. "Comedy legend David Walliams will reprise his iconic character Lou for the exclusive return of Little Britain with a very special guest -- Professor Stephen Hawking. The sketch, which also stars Catherine Tate, will be an unmissable highlight of the show."

Vicar of Dibley veteran Dawn French and Mr. Bean star Rowan Atkinson will reprise their iconic roles throughout the night, while another sketch will follow some of the biggest names in show business as they find out if they've done enough to earn the accolade of National Treasure 2015.

The program will also inlcude powerful appeal films presented by Peter Capaldi, Olivia Colman, Idris Elba, John Bishop and Lenny Henry to show how the money raised through the telethon could help change lives in the United Kingdom and in Africa. Ella Henderson, Labrinth and Sam Smith will provide the evening's musical entertainment.
