Katie Holmes lands guest role on Showtime's 'Ray Donovan'

Production on the 12-episode third season of the drama series began in Los Angeles this week.

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 28 (UPI) -- Dawson's Creek veteran Katie Holmes is to guest star in a "major, season-long arc" of Ray Donovan, Showtime announced Wednesday.

The Pieces of April and The Giver actress will play "shrewd and chic businesswoman Paige, the daughter of billionaire producer Andrew Finney, who enlists Ray's services," the cable television network said in a news release announcing Holmes' casting in Ray Donovan.

Season 3 newcomer Ian McShane will play Finney on the drama series, while Liev Schreiber is returning as the titular fixer, who is described in press notes as "the man called in to make the city's celebrities, superstar athletes, and business moguls' most complicated and combustible situations go away."

Production on the upcoming 12-episode season began in Los Angeles this week.
