Bradley Cooper, Amy Poehler, Paul Rudd returning for 'Wet Hot American Summer' series

The stars from the 2001 cult classic movie -- Elizabeth Banks, Bradley Cooper, Janeane Garofalo, Amy Poehler, David Hyde Pierce, Paul Rudd and Molly Shannon -- are returning for the Netflix prequel series.

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 27 (UPI) -- Netflix posted a brief teaser trailer on YouTube Tuesday for its upcoming prequel series based on the 2001 cult classic Wet Hot American Summer, a comedy which followed a group of campers as the summer of 1981 was winding down.

"The counselors are confirmed for Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp, a limited 8-episode series coming to Netflix just in time for summer," said a message posted beneath the clip.

"Elizabeth Banks, Michael Ian Black, Bradley Cooper, Judah Friedlander, Janeane Garofalo, Joe Lo Truglio, Ken Marino, Christopher Meloni, Marguerite Moreau, Zak Orth, Amy Poehler, David Hyde Pierce, Paul Rudd, Molly Shannon, and Michael Showalter are among some of the cast joining the series, which tells the story of the first day of Camp Firewood's famous summer season, now 14 years after the film's debut. The series is directed by David Wain and co-written by Wain and Michael Showalter."

The video shows the names of the cast members flashing over cabins with a girl writing "Camp Firewood '81" in chalk on the front of one of the buildings.
